Description | This course provides a survey of economic systems, forms of business ownership, and considerations for running a business. Students will learn various aspects of business, management, and leadership functions; organizational considerations; and decision-making processes. Financial topics are introduced, including accounting, money and banking, and securities markets. Instructor Policies | Assignments are due at the beginning of class on the specified date. Late work may result in a penalty. Classroom participation and attendance is an integral variable for optimal student growth and grasp of course objectives | ||||||||||
Attendance Policy |
Consistent attendance is a leading variable for job retention and promotion. Therefore, consistent attendance is required. Attendance will be monitored for each class. *Unexcused tardiness is not acceptable. Frequent unexcused tardiness will result in a meeting with the instructor. Continued unexcused tardiness may result in a ten-point penalty on the student's final grade. *Students are responsible for completing all assigned reading. *A failure to follow oral and/or written instructions will result in penalties. *Students are required to take all assessments. Any missed assessments will result in a zero for the test. *Students must leave the classroom after exam is finished. *All students must take the final exam on the scheduled date and time, and failure to do so will result in a zero (0) on the final exam. Dropping or Withdrawing: *It is the responsibility of each student to ensure that his or her name is removed from the roll should he or she decides to withdraw from the class. The instructor does, however, reserve the right to drop a student should he or she feel it is necessary. *State law permits students to withdraw from no more than six courses during their entire undergraduate career at Texas public colleges or universities. With certain exceptions, all course withdrawals automatically count towards this limit. Details regarding this policy can be found in the LSCPA college catalog. Classroom Etiquette: *All students are expected to participate in classroom discussions and assignments. *Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner. *Any behavior deemed unacceptable may result in expulsion from class. |
